Yet another charity work in education and healthcare fields from the Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation. The foundation which was established by the late Salih İşgören, a philanthropist with the Order of Merit, before his passing and maintains the donations with the responsibility of embalming the philanthropist has recently signed a protocol with the Dokuz Eylül University in order to award scholarship for 100 students.
The Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation previously signed scholarship protocol with the Police Department, Probation Office and many institutions, particularly state universities in İzmir, and now is going to grant scholarship for 100 students from the Dokuz Eylül University.
The scholarship protocol was signed yesterday in the Dokuz Eylül University Rectorate Building. The protocol was signed by the Dokuz Eylül University Rectorate Prof. Dr. Mehmet Füzün and the Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation Vice Chairman of the Board Erol Urgun, and the administrators of foundation and the authorities of university attended the ceremony. Within the framework of the protocol, the Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation is going to grant scholarship for each 100 student from the Dokuz Eylül University with 2.250 TL in total in this education term.
The Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation Vice Chairman of the Board Erol Urgun points out that as the foundation they pay attention to do all charity work through the public institutions and states that “We have recently carried out important work in terms of supporting educational programs of the universities in İzmir. We had previously signed a scholarship protocol with Katip Çelebi University. We grant scholarship for the students determined by the Police Department and the relatives of the convicts reported by the Probation Office. We try to support the students of the Dokuz Eylül University which is one of the most rooted education institutions in İzmir with our scholarships, as well. Our cooperation with the Dokuz Eylül University in various areas continues, too.”
The Dokuz Eylül University Rectorate Prof. Dr. Mehmet Füzün also points out that they carried out significant projects with the late Salih İşgören in his lifetime, and the same cooperation maintains with the Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation after his passing. Füzün remarks that “I thank the administrators of the Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation for the scholarship granted for our 100 students. The best charity works are the ones for the students. Our close encounter with the Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation for their valuable contribution to education is going to continue.
